About 90% of the fruit from the olive tree is harvested for olive oil while only 10% of the fruit is eaten after processing. Olives can be green or black in color. It is believed that daily consumption improves the memory. Usually allergy develops to the pollen of olive trees. Allergy to olive fruit or olive oil is less common. Symptoms include postnasal drip, sneezing, congestion, sinus headache, coughing & wheezing.
