Bone marrow / blood plasma cells from patients with Multiple Myeloma (MM) & all plasma cell dyscrasias strongly express CD38. High CD38 expression is associated with lower risk of progression from aymptomatic to symptomatic phase in MM. CD38 expression in Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is associated with a worse clinical outcome.
