Cataract results in clouding of eye lens which can develop in one or both the eyes thereby affecting vision. Symptoms may include faded colors, blurry vision, halos around light, trouble with bright lights and difficulty in seeing at night. We are all at risk of developing cataracts due to aging, but one important risk factor is family history. Some inherited genetic disorders that cause other health problems can increase your risk of cataracts. Mutations in several different genes on different chromosomes are associated with Cataract. This test is useful for the genetic determination of this disorder.
