VISCOSITY, SERUM
High serum viscosity is commonly observed in patients with Waldenstrom’s Macroglobulinemia (80-90%) and to a lesser extent in Multiple Myeloma. Patients with high viscosity may have capillary occlusion, stasis hypoxia, and acidosis.
